More Energy and Making Prenatal Videos
I am enjoying the increase in energy I've been having the past couple weeks. Sure, I'm ready for bed at 8, but at least I'm not dragging throughout the day. Especially on days when I am super busy and I am terrible at taking naps! With my the Happy Heart Challenge that I am running the month of February, I had said that I was going to take 2 rest days a week. Fail on that one - I have only been doing 1, but I have been listening to my body. Lighting my strength workouts - making them shorter or just going lighter with the weights. I have been feeling a lot more sore lately too, which I find odd since I am toning it down, not increasing weights. But clearly my body is changing.
I am finally showing more - so I no longer look just dumpy. :) I still hate getting dressed. I don't feel comfortable in most of my clothes, especially "normal" clothes. Even with maternity clothes. It's something I need to get over it - or deal with for the coming months.
I have been looking online and on youtube for prenatal workouts, since I am sometimes tired of coming up with workouts for myself, and they all suck. They are too easy. I know everyone is at a different fitness level, but come on! Challenge me a little! I have decided to film my own videos along my pregnancy for prenatal mommas to do that are challenging, but also showing and explaining regression of the exercises if you aren't are fit or need something easier. I made the first workout and did it the other day. I will have my husband film it over the weekend, once the microphone I ordered comes in. We will see how that goes, but I am thinking of doing one every 2 weeks.
Now that I am experiencing these things and belong to a pre and post natal athlete community, I really feel a passion for helping those who become pregnant. All the generic rules we hear about and the basic things our doctors tell us, may not be the best thing for us.
I have 1 more week before I hang up my running shoes for a while. I am sad since now running has been feeling pretty good - well mostly, but it's not worth potentially compromising my pelvic floor and maybe messing up something else in my body. I am trying to convince my husband to let me buy either a rower or a sled, but who knows. I will continue spin class and doing the elliptical and incline walking to get my heart rate up - knowing it won't be the same.
Ah well - it'll be worth it.
