I love Carbs
So I’m nauseous most of the time, but whenever I am actually eating, I am not nauseous. Although, the second I stop, I am nauseous again. That can’t be normal. I am going to gain a lot of weight if I keep this up! I have heard that people dislike vegetables while newly pregnant. I still like them just fine and eat them. I don’t have any real cravings, but I am gravitating more towards the carby foods and red meat. I am also eating a lot of pickles…. But I’ve always enjoyed a good pickle.
I had Red Robin the other night. I have actually never been there before but was craving a juicy burger and a good bun. I have to say that it was so good! Of course, I got the broccoli instead of the fries (which by the way was disgusting). I should have gone for the fries.
Ginger tea helps with the nauseousness, but then I googled it and it seems as if pregnant women can’t have lemongrass or licorice root, which is in those teas. So I guess I’m out of luck. I should probably stop googling things. Everything I google makes me freak out more - like regarding things I can’t eat or drink. I thought it was fairly basic. Apparently not!
I caught a nasty cold but couldn’t take anything for it. That was a rough week. So I’m already nauseous, but then I can’t sleep on top of that since I can’t breathe out of my nose and my throat feels like sandpaper, and I’m exhausted. Not sure if that’s from not sleeping or from being pregnant. In spite of that cold though, I did manage to run a half marathon and to meet my goal time. Go me! I wonder how much longer I will be able to run this much. My friend ran on our relay team when she was 5 months pregnant. I hope I can keep up with her.
I can understand how so many newly preggo mom’s don’t have the energy to workout, but maybe it’s because I enjoy it so much - I don’t have that problem. I get my workouts in, and it gives me even more energy - at least for a couple hours after. Those who know me well would be proud to know I am now taking 2 rest days a week. I used to hardly ever rest. So yay! This time it really matters, plus it does help that I am pretty exhausted. We will see if that keeps up the further along I get.
