Today's My Due Date

Well, I made it to my due date. I want to say the 40 weeks flew by, which on one hand, it kind of did, but the other hand, it did not. As you can read through this blog, I had a lot of ups and downs in the 40 weeks - struggling in my new body and not being able to do a lot of things I normally can do. The baby doesn't seem to have any plans on making an appearance soon. Clearly exercise isn't going to work with this situation. We went hiking over the weekend and I've been walking a bunch every day (I am very thankful for this cooler weather)

Honestly, by body is tired. I did strength train a few times in the past week, but my heart really wasn't into it. I wasn't pushing myself hard, which I know you aren't supposed to during the end of pregnancy since the point is to be able to sustain movements needed for motherhood, not to gain muscles/lose weight/tone.

I am training only a handful of clients this week, as long as the baby doesn't come. It's been a nice break, but I am a bit bored (I don't do well doing nothing). It's funny - yesterday I was full of energy. I guess I was doing what you would call nesting. I cleaned out the whole house - throwing a lot of things out and donating a bunch else. (It was really nice to get rid of so many things!) But today, I am completely exhausted, not wanting to do much. I went to a spin class this morning and felt okay, but the energy went down from there.

It's now a waiting game. Waiting to see if today will be the day the baby wants to come. I am trying to do as much as I can think to do beforehand. But since I am a planner, I already did most of that weeks ago. Ah well. Guess I need to find a good book to read and put my feet up.

On a completely different note, I got my plaque for being named top 10 best personal trainers on Denver's A List! I am so honored to have been nominated, let alone win. I have the best job and clients! I truly am blessed with this career!
